Planning for the 2022 National Conference (Sydney) and Online Conference Series
February 2022
AITPM continues to adapt and grow throughout the pandemic, and we remain committed to advancing the skills, capabilities, and knowledge in the industry. We have been quick to adopt online approaches to connect practitioners with relevant, accessible technical content, which has proven to be a highly successful way to engage with our members and subscribers during these times.
We are committed to embracing this growth in online technical content, and we are excited to be bringing you another Online Conference Series in October 2022.
A Call for Abstracts for the Online Conference Series will be released by May, to enable presentation topics to be put forward from a broad range of professionals across the industry to deliver another diverse program of technical content online.
What the industry has being missing though, and is calling out for, is the opportunity to come together in person, to engage with colleagues and make new connections.
We have consulted and listened to our members, partners, and stakeholders about what is needed. We have observed the types of content and topics that would benefit most from in-person engagement and collaboration. We have developed a risk management approach to address the potential challenges that we may face as the pandemic continues to impact our community.
After two years of pandemic-induced cancellations, AITPM is excited to be delivering a new approach to our Annual National Conference, to be held in Sydney on 21 & 22 July 2022 at the iconic International Conference Centre.
Our National Conference Delivery Team for Sydney 2022 is working on a curated two-day program of keynote speakers, leading thinkers and panels that will focus on generating discussion and debate on the key issues shaping our industry. This will be supplemented by opportunities to engage in a small number of workshops on topical areas of practice.
This includes working with our Transport Modelling Network to deliver a workshop to discuss and advance modelling practice.
The Delivery Team will be curating the program by identifying and approaching relevant colleagues, politicians, and partners to explore the conference’s key themes and provide you with unique learning opportunities. An Expression of Interest will be released in the coming weeks to seek nominations for a limited number of additional presenters on specific topics to complement this core program.
A key focus of the National Conference will be to spark discussion and provide much-missed networking opportunities. Our Industry Trade Exhibition space will host all daytime breaks to maximise the opportunity to network and get some hands-on experience of the latest products on display, while overlooking Darling Harbour.
To complement the conference – and if restrictions allow - the team will be working on optional social networking events closer to the time, with the aim to create further chances to connect with your colleagues, while managing the changing risks.
We are excited about both our new format National Conference in July and the Online Conference Series in October, and we look forward to our members and industry colleagues attending these events to advance their knowledge, share their experience and build lasting connections across the transport community.
