TECHNICAL EVENTS
AITPM grows the capability of the transport industry through sharing and developing knowledge and experience.
Technical Events are an important form of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that aim to advance the skills, capabilities, and knowledge of attendees across the breadth and depth of fields within the transport industry. Technical Events bring to the fore the latest academic and industry research, best practice case studies, technological innovation, standards, policies, programs, projects, and practical experiences from the industry.
Technical events are divided into two categories:
Standard Technical Events are focused on professionals and practitioners sharing their expertise and experiences on a broad range of technical content from across the range to transport fields and disciplines. These events are typically 1-1.5hours in duration and may be in the form of a webinar or in person (and in some cases hybrid), and they may attract CPD hours or points able to be applied to various other professional accreditation schemes. Where held in person, the event may include an informal networking component. Standard Technical Events are generally free for AITPM Members and Government Subscribers, although in some instances when more substantial networking and catering is supplied there may be a modest charge.
Non-Standard CPD Events are focused on exploring technical content in greater depth or breadth in a longer or more interactive format. These events are typically longer than 1.5hours in duration, and they may attract CPD hours or points able to be applied to various other professional accreditation schemes. The format of these events may include site visits/study tours, workshops, forums, and training sessions to explore various aspects of technical knowledge and practice in a greater detail. These events may be in person or online. There are generally costs associated with attendance at these events, with a discounted rate for members and subscribers.
