Our approach to planning and designing transport networks and public spaces needs to evolve. The task of developing innovative and adaptable solutions, does not rest with any single entity or profession. It is a collective effort—government, industry, and community must all work together to meet the challenge of balancing the diverse competing and interdependent needs of our communities.
Through thought-provoking presentations, panel discussions and hands-on workshops, #AITPMADELAIDE2025, seeks to encourage a positive and active response to the barriers, challenges, and threats and opportunities for building liveable communities, focusing on growth and sustainability, now and into the future.
We invite professionals from across the transport industry to submit abstracts addressing innovative approaches in transport and urban planning to support thriving communities.
Themes for consideration in 2025 include designing vibrant main streets, speed limit reviews, new engineering treatments for road safety, inclusive and accessible multi-modal station design, universal access, safer cycling infrastructure, walking network plans, community engagement, school travel safety, and transport demand modelling. We welcome insights on emerging transport technologies, zero-emissions solutions, parking demand management, economic evaluations, and the integration of smart data and analytics.
Submissions encompassing local government, academic and industry research, and underrepresented groups are encouraged to foster greater diversity of thought and experience.
