Join Rob Morgan for an exploration of "The Ten Most Popular Mis-Uses of Traffic Control Devices".
Rob Morgan is a traffic engineer and road safety engineer, based in Melbourne. Rob is a Fellow of the AITPM and has over 45 years experience in traffic, transport and road safety.
Some of you may know him from his work as the principal author the Austroads guides on the Treatment of Crash Location and on Road Safety Auditing.
But Rob also has a long history of involvement with traffic signs and line marking. Since 1984 Rob has been a member of the Standards Australia Committee responsible for AS 1742 – our Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. He led the project to develop Australia’s standardised parking control signs – first published in 1989 – as well as updates in 1999 and 2016. His other areas of major involvement have been in leading the updates for street name signs in 1997 and 2017 and the major overhaul of the direction signing standard, published in 2019.
Rob recently published a 12-page guide for practitioners ‘The Ten Most Popular Mis-Uses of Traffic Control Devices in Australia’. Rob will talk about some of his favourites.
The presentation will be followed by Q&A facilitated by Emmanuel Natalizio of Trafficworks.
