About this event
Join AITPM Qld Branch for an evening of casual networking to welcome in the new year and catch up with friends and colleagues. Guest speakers, Brendan O’Keeffe, Brisbane City Council and Tina King, Urbis, will share their knowledge on the topic of Brisbane’s iconic bridges.
Meet us for nibbles and refreshments at the SMEC office, where we will start the evening chatter and hear presentations from Brendan and Tina.
Networking will continue just downstairs at the Jubilee Hotel.
This is a great event for anyone to come along, especially those who are new to AITPM as you will have the chance to meet many members over a casual evening, with some interesting topics to discuss.
Speakers include:
- Brendan O’Keeffe, Policy and Strategy Principal Engineer, Brisbane City Council. Brendan will share a history of Overcoming the Brisbane River.
- Tina King, Director of Heritage, Urbis. Tina will speak to her work on restoring / upgrading bridges on the Brisbane River.

Brendan O’Keeffe | Brisbane City Council
Brendan O’Keeffe is Principal Engineer, Policy and Strategy at Brisbane City Council where he provides strategic advice on Council’s $1.4 billion annual transport program. Brendan has led a number of initiatives in Council on legislative reform, strategic transport planning, economic evaluation and commercial analyses. Previous to working in Brisbane City Council Brendan worked as a consultant transport economist undertaking evaluations of major transport projects around Australia.
Brendan is the Business Case Manager on Council’s $550 million green bridges program and recently has assisted in the preparation of business cases for public and active transport initiatives including new ferry terminals, Brisbane’s North West Transport Network and future busway development. He is also leading the development of Council’s strategies in response to disruptive technologies in the transport sector.
Tina King | Urbis
Tina is a Director of Heritage in the Brisbane Office with more than 20 years’ experience working in both private consultancy and State Government. Tina specialises in built heritage and historical archaeology with a specific interest in physical conservation methods and the preparation of condition assessments, maintenance and repair schedules and conservation plans for buildings, structures and places. She has a diverse range of experience in the heritage field having worked on a range of cultural heritage projects across all States and territories of Australia, and has worked on many significant developments in South-East Queensland, and since 2018 has been the Heritage Advisor on the Story Bridge Restoration Project.
