Caitlin McHugh | KPMG
Caitlin is a Transport Modeller at KPMG with over six years of experience working in transport advisory services in both local government and the private sector in transport planning, traffic engineering and transport modelling. With a background in mathematics, her interest lies in the algorithms and mathematical models underlying transport models. She has a strong background in demand forecasting and in the development of models used to forecast freight movements and their impacts on surrounding networks. She has strong analytical skills with experience in the development of a range of quantitative models and in the analysis of data. She is currently undertaking a Master of Statistics with a focus on computational mathematics, statistics and stochastic models.
Wanuji Abewickrema | University of Queensland
Wanuji received her Master of Engineering in urban design and built environment, specialized in transportation engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), Japan, and her B.Sc. in civil and infrastructure engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. She is currently a doctoral research scholar in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Queensland. Her research interests focus on real-time traffic estimation/prediction, traffic flow modelling, intelligent transport systems, data analytics, and transport planning. She also has 5+ years of experience working in different National and International collaborative transport projects.
Alana Plummer | Department of Transport and Main Roads
Alana is a Senior Planner in the Cycling and Walking Team at the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Queensland. She is passionate about creating places for people and sustainable transport infrastructure. Skilled as a planner and scientist, Alana has over 5 years' experience in spatial analysis, providing data and user experience to inform transport advice on transport projects, and cross-disciplinary communication. Alana has been a lead contributor to the Walking Network Plans led by TMR and manages the delivery the Walking Local Government Grants program for walking network planning across the State. Her role at TMR involves helping make the Queensland government vision of making 'walking an easy choice for everyone every day' a reality through facilitating best-practice training, workshops and providing technical infrastructure project advice.
