About this event
This event is for anyone who missed the 2022 AITPM National Conference in NSW. The SA Branch will showcase three Adelaide-based presenters that participated and attended the conference in July. Topics will cover three areas ranging from Micromobility, Conference reflections, and an SA based 'Cyclist Street':
Demand for deliveries of almost everything from ready-to-eat meals to home improvement items is on the rise. The resulting freight task, especially the "last mile" that brings the service or product directly to customers, adds pressure to our cities and places. Relying upon cars, vans and trucks for the last mile risks clogging up our local places, adds to emissions and result in negative impacts on our health and wellbeing. Micromobility offers a smarter way to move freight in busy and dense city centres, where space to move and to park is increasingly at a premium.
If you want to know what the National Conference was like for a Young Professional, hear from SA's Young Professional Award Winner who will share her experiences and learnings from her first attendance and beginnings as a young engineer.
Technically developed by Department of Transport and Main Roads (QLD) and to be constructed by the City of Mitcham Council in 2022, the cyclist street will be one of the first installation of this concept in Adelaide. Winona Avenue in Clarence Gardens, received many challenges in integrating a low traffic volume bikeway through from the Tonsley Campus in St Marys to Cross Road in Clarence Gardens. See the background of how the Cyclist Street came about including background information, the challenges, solutions and engagement.
We will hear from:
- Shifani Sood – Senior Consultant at WSP Australia
- Lucy Mao (2022 YPA Winner) – Traffic Engineer at Be Engineering Solutions
- James Arnold – Senior Engineer at Tonkin Consulting
For any enquires, please contact James Arnold
