About this event
AITPM VIC YPN and Stantec are pleased to host a Healthy Streets Assessment Walkshop for young professionals.
Attendees will participate in assessing a street using the Healthy Streets Assessment Tool guided by James Laing at Stantec.
If weather permits, participants will get the chance to visit a selected street in Melbourne's CBD and work in small groups to assess the study area against the Healthy Streets Assessment criteria.

This is a catered event held at Stantec’s 55 Collins Street office on Thursday 26th May at 3pm.

Note: All attendees will be asked to fill out a H&S risk assessment form on the day of the event (prior to the site visit). It is also recommended that all attendees are to wear enclosed comfortable footwear suitable for site visit.

James Laing | Stantec
James Laing is a transport engineer with over twenty years’ experience in the UK and abroad. James brings a portfolio of work covering many aspects of transport planning and design. James is a specialist in active travel and the bulk of his work is geared towards developing accessible and inclusive places where people want to spend time. In London, James was also responsible for leading a team carrying out Healthy Streets assessments, a tool used to ensure that transport designs focus on the promotion of cycling, walking and public transport use. In 2021 James was part of a team of experts that was commissioned to develop the Healthy Streets Design Check Australia tool which was released in July 2021
