Taru started her career in the UK as a transport consultant before moving to New Delhi to work as an assistant Professor of Transport Planning. For her PhD research Taru was chosen as the Victorian Researcher of the Year 2019 by AECURN and Best Doctoral Paper at the 98th Transportation Research Board Meeting in Washington DC. Taru's research has been cited widely in publications such as Wall Street Journal, and some of her publications feature as the most downloaded papers in the world.
