About this event
Join the VIC & TAS Branch for their annual TMN Tasmania event, where attendees will hear from 3 presenters on People movement, the role of data as we move from vehicle throughput into a focus on people and the unique context of walkability and health in small rural towns.
There will also be plenty of time to socialise with other transport professionals over light catering and beverages.

Speakers
Erin Jackson | Principal, Technical Director | GHD
Erin has been delivering innovative transport projects for her clients for over 20 years’ across the fields of traffic engineering, transport planning and project management. With a Master’s degree in Traffic Engineering through Monash University, Erin is GHD’s National Mobility lead and a Transport Planning Technical Director.
Her expertise in network planning and a desire for continuous improvement has led her to be GHD’s global leader for a Future Communities initiative focussing on the complexities of urban networks.
Associate Professor Verity Cleland | Senior Research Fellow | Menzies Institute for Medial Research | University of Tasmania
A/Prof Cleland is a behavioural epidemiologist with a background in health promotion. Her research focuses on understanding how the places where we live, work, study, and play can impact on how active we are, and what strategies can be used to help more people be active every day. Verity has received >$8.5 million in research funding and has published >100 peer-reviewed articles. As well as being an invited member of international and national funding review panels, she is the Chair of the Tasmanian Active Living Coalition and Acting Chair of the Tasmanian Premier’s Health and Wellbeing Advisory Council.
Erin Trainer | Transport Modeller and Analyst | Department of State Growth Tasmania
Erin is a Transport Modeller and Analyst at the Department of State Growth in Tasmania. She holds degrees from both the University of Sydney and the University of Tasmania. For the past 7 years she has managed Hobart’s Strategic Model and Household Travel Surveys, and, has worked on a range of other transport related projects. She has a passion for providing appropriate evidence to support government decision making in relation to transport infrastructure investments.
This includes understanding the travel behaviours of Hobart residents to ensure infrastructure can be provided to meet the needs of residents and improves the efficiency of the transport network.
She is a member of AITPMs Transport Modellers Network and is passionate about improving how models are used and how their results are communicated.
