Dr Deborah Hume

Deborah was appointed as Deputy Director-General (Translink) in August 2024 and leads the delivery of customer focused passenger transport services across Queensland, including policy, planning, ticketing, contract management and customer services, as well as a coordinated approach in the delivery of the significant rail infrastructure pipeline.
Deborah has extensive experience in public transport operations and strategy and most recently held the role of National Manager, Multimodal Integration, at the New Zealand Transport Agency, where she led the national direction in urban mobility, public transport, rail and freight.
Simon Hunter
Chief Transport Planner
Transport for NSW
Simon started as the Chief Transport Planner in Transport for NSW in 2022. In this role he is responsible for the Transport Planning Branch that sets the future direction for integrated transport and land use in NSW. Simon has worked for over 20 years in the NSW Government, primarily in Transport, working in policy and planning roles in freight, regional and urban transport roles as well as in infrastructure strategy as an Executive Director at Infrastructure NSW
Stuart Johns
Executive Director, Modal Planning, Network Design and Integration Group
Department of Transport and Planning VIC
Stuart leads the integrated, multi-modal transport planning function for the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning, with a remit covering planning for the state’s rail network, buses, trams, walking and cycling, strategic roads and motorways.
Stuart’s team includes transport modellers and analysts managing the Victorian Integrated Transport Model that informs the State’s transport pipeline. Stuart’s area is also leading the implementation of Victoria’s Bus Plan, the delivery of transport plans to support growth in Melbourne’s Activity Centres and supports the State’s Big Build projects including the Eastern Busway, Melton Line Upgrade and the Metro Rail Tunnel through the development of new transport networks.
Kirsty Kelly

Kirsty Kelly is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM) and is an experienced leader in the built environment sector, having previously served as CEO of the Planning Institute of Australia and the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand. Starting her career as an urban and regional planner, Kirsty has worked as a planner in local, state and territory government, the private sector, academia, and non-profit associations.
