About this event
This year with the bringing together of Planning and Transport with the newly formed Department of Transport and Planning, we have collaborated with the Planning Institute of Australia Young Planners to share common experiences and learnings in the built environment.
AITPM and PIA recognise the importance of fostering collaborative relationships between planners and engineers to achieve integrated outcomes for our communities. This event is great opportunity to meet young planners and engineers and hear from experts in planning and transport on lessons learnt throughout their careers.
Wins & F*%k Ups Night was inspired by a global movement from the Failure Institute that shares stories of professional failure, which break free from the stigmas and pressures of professionalism. These personal stories, rooted in authenticity and vulnerability, aim to change workplaces for the better.
Speakers:
- Kate Stapleton MPIA - Director, Planning and Heritage Practice | Department of Transport and Planning
- Tim Hellsten RPIA (Fellow) - Senior Panel Member | Planning Panels Victoria
- Aaron Walley - Director | Ratio Consultants
Nibbles will be provided as well as a free drink card!
We look forward to seeing many young engineers and planners in the audience for a night of laughter and learning!
For any enquiries, please contact Harry Jorgensen & Lachlan Beckworth
This event is kindly sponsored by Ratio Consultants in collaboration with AITPM and PIA.
Kate Stapleton | Department of Transport and Planning
Kate is an experienced urban planner who has spent the last five years hanging out with transport folk in VicRoads and then Dept of Transport, translating transport plans, requirements and outcomes into the Victorian Planning System (and she still loves her job!). Kate was a key leader of the Transport Planning Reforms project that was recently recognised winning the National Award for Excellence in ‘Improving Planning Process.’ The reforms embed planning for a transport system to support land use change and facilitating the utopia of transport and land use integration.
Aaron Walley | Ratio Consultants
Aaron has been practising as transport engineer in private consultancy for a little over 20 years and is still trying hard to perfect his skills and expertise. He has worked on and led a huge range of strategic and statutory transport projects for both public and private clients across a range of industry sectors and, for the odd project, has had carriage of transport planning and engineering from strategic planning stage through to on the ground delivery. Heading up Ratio’s Geelong office, Aaron’s recent focus has shifted to the transport challenges across regional Victoria.
