About this event
Join us online for Aimsun – Beyond Cars – Modelling the Integrated Future of Mobility. Across Australia and New Zealand, transport solutions are considering the benefits of a range of different modes and services which will change how people and goods move around our cities.
Aimsun enables true multi-modal simulation, a powerful tool to understand the opportunities and integrated network benefits of your future transport vision. Hear from presenters Dave Keenan, Mohammad Saifuzzaman and Timothy Lim about how Aimsun can support you in assessing journeys across a range of different PT services, active transport, micromobility plus, the potentially significant new technology paradigms as may lay ahead.

Mohammad Saifuzzaman | Aimsun
Mohammad Saifuzzaman (Saif) joined the Aimsun team in Sydney in 2017 as part of the Professional Services team, where he initially worked on project development, data analysis, and client support. However, his strong research background in traffic flow and simulation meant that he was soon promoted to the role of Product Specialist, and he now participates in various research and development projects in Aimsun to improve and extend the software capability in offline and real-time traffic simulation.
Standout projects have included the development of the Incident Detection Module currently implemented in the Sydney M4 Managed Motorway System, and also the daily traffic pattern generation algorithm from big data. Prior to joining Aimsun, Mohammad was an active researcher in the field of traffic flow theory and simulation, publishing his work in various top ranked journals. Saif has broad international experience and has worked on projects in Bangladesh, Sweden, France, and Australia. He is experienced in using various legacy modelling and programming tools.
Timothy Lim | Aimsun
Timothy Lim is the Regional Head of Professional Services team in the Australia and New Zealand region, Tim has provided technical support to the local consultants in using Aimsun Next across various transport planning and network operational projects, in addition to leading on projects delivery directly for Aimsun end-clients. He has 15 years of experience in the industry and has led the team that delivered multiple 'Australia first' projects including the Tactical Adelaide Modelling (TAM) Framework. He was also the project leader that helped to deploy the first Aimsun Live project in Australia as part of the M4 Managed Motorway System (M4MMS). Tim is always enthusiastic to explore with Aimsun users, partners and clients as regards new and innovative solutions to achieve greater benefits for the community.

He has published research on topics as diverse as road safety, speed camera enforcement methods and on appraisal methods for transportation system construction and upgrade schemes for up to multi-billion-dollar public capital works. He is a founder of and Immediate Past National Chair (2019 to 2021) of the AITPM's Transport Modelling Network. In June he became the fifth person to be awarded with the Modelling World UK Conference's Masters of Modelling Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his contribution to the transportation modelling discipline globally in both a professional and in a volunteer/institution sense.
