Ross Savedge | Principal Consultant (Transport Advisory) & Market Leader (ACT) | Veitch Lister Consulting
As a Principal Consultant, Ross is responsible for leading public transport planning projects in cities across Australia.
With 12 years of experience in public transport network and operations planning, Ross has worked on projects throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Over the past few years, he has worked with Transport Canberra on the design and implementation of Canberra's new bus network, which launched in April 2019, as well as with VLC's transport modelling team on bus network integration for the next stage of Canberra Light Rail. Previously, Ross worked on several projects in Auckland's city centre, aimed at accommodating Auckland's new bus network as well as future growth in public transport services in the future.
Ross has a Bachelor of Arts (AB) in Russian with a minor in business from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. (2002), and a Master of Urban Planning from City University of New York, Hunter College (2009).
Punthila Jayarathne | Transport Consultant | Veitch Lister Consulting
Punthila graduated from Monash University with a PhD in Transport Engineering, her research is focused on cycling access to train stations and the impact of COVID-19 on cycling behaviour. Punthila has also been a teaching associate at Monash University for over four years.
In addition, she has research experience in active transport integration with PT and integrated transport planning for sustainable cities. Her role in VLC is to provide advisory and data analysis support to the public transport project delivery teams.
Before joining VLC and starting her doctoral studies, Punthila spent more than five years in the supply chain and logistics industry as a supply chain and sustainability project leader.
Melissa Rachan | Senior Transport Planner | WSP
Melissa has nine years' experience as a transport planner, spanning across local government, state government and the private sector. This has offered Melissa a diverse perspective and has fueled her passion for engaging meaningfully with stakeholders and the community to understand their desired outcomes. All roles have been centred on improving access and movement for people, with a keen focus on how sustainable transport can deliver positive social outcomes and have a positive social impact on communities.
