Improving road safety in the workplace | #6 in series of 6 | Feb 2021

RACV, AITPM and ACRS have come together to offer a road safety seminar series. There are six sessions aiming to tackle the question of which steps need to be taken to move closer towards zero.

We will hear from strategists and practitioners about their experiences and they will offer solutions the industry needs to implement in order to create a safer system to eliminate trauma from the road network.

Bridget Burdett  | MRCagney

Bridget is a Principal Researcher at MRCagney, based in Hamilton. Bridget works on transport research, policy, and practice for a variety of government, university, and private sector clients around New Zealand. Bridget is a Chartered Engineer in transport with a doctorate in cognitive psychology, and is Vice Chair of Engineering New Zealand's Transportation Group.

Bridget regularly presents on inclusive access and road safety to audiences of transport professionals and community, with a focus on challenging us all to think about what ‘best practice’ means for the people we work with, and those we serve.

Jerome Carslake  | NRSPP

Jerome is currently the Director of the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) which is delivered by the Monash University Accident Research Centre. Jerome has extensive knowledge in workplace road safety management, program delivery and the collaborative development of solutions.

Jerome has a broad background in transport including leading the development of the NRSPP and other strategic projects during his time at the National Transport Commission, prior to that he was a consultant and policy adviser within the agricultural and renewable sectors and their related supply chains.

Jerome’s origins are from the northern wheat belt of Western Australia with studies in agricultural science, agribusiness, project management, strategic research and stakeholder engagement. He has a Masters in Agribusiness and Bachelor of Agricultural Science. His passion is in teamwork and collaboration which originate from his rowing at an elite level in Western Australia as both a rower and coach.
