About this event
Join us for the first Lunch Bites session for 2025 with our CEO, Kirsty Kelly, where we will hear from Sam Johnson, Sustainable Transport Specialist at the World Bank.
Sam will present on an important document released in late 2024. The Guide to Mobility for Liveable Pacific Cities is a blueprint for revolutionizing urban transportation in the Pacific, making it more sustainable, safe, affordable and people friendly. The Guide gives detailed, practical advice on how to create livable streets for people, promote public transit, and manage private vehicle ownership and use.
Why it Matters
- The Guide is the first of its kind for the Pacific and will be an essential reference document for all governments, development partners and engineering consulting firms
- This Guide can catalyze a coordinated, region-wide investment program to make Pacific Cities more livable by 2030
How is the Guide designed to be used?
- Part I is primarily written for top government decision-makers and representatives of civil society and development organizations who are tasked with defining strategies for the future development of Pacific cities.
- Part II is written for working-level technical practitioners who seek to understand and implement strategies developed under Part I. It provides detailed technical data, reference information, and guidance for the implementation of the strategies.
Registrations close Wednesday 5 February 2025.
