About this event
Main Roads Western Australia is planning to update their operational modelling guidelines. We cordially invite all operational traffic modelling professionals to attend. This event aims to cover suggested changes, clarifications and updates to the Main Roads Operational Modelling Guidelines. A workshop will be held to further discuss traffic modelling best practices to deliver better transport outcomes especially in Western Australia.

Rafael Carvajal Cifuentes
Rafael Carvajal is a seasoned Operational Modelling and Visualisation Manager with over 18 years of experience in operational modelling and enhancing network performance for all road users. Through Rafael's competent leadership and expert technical direction, he has led operational modelling teams to achieve improvements to the road network for local and state authorities. Rafael has successfully reduced congestion and delivered positive traffic outcomes to several countries, not limited to the United Kingdom, Spain, Mexico, and Australia.
Taekyun Kim
Taekyun Kim is a highly competent Acting Operational Modelling and Visualisation Manager with over 18 years in transport and traffic engineering. Taekyun's transport portfolio has led him to work globally on projects from Korea, the Middle East, and Australia. Taekyun is highly skilled in all tiers of traffic modelling from macro to micro extending from small to large-scale transport master planning projects. The traffic models he coordinates have supported Main Roads Western Australia in making sound decisions for positive traffic outcomes.
Bruce Ling
Bruce Ling is an accomplished Acting Operational Modelling and Visualisation Coordinator with over 9 years of expertise in civil, transport, and traffic engineering. Specializing in microsimulation to analytical modelling, Bruce's experience includes delivering landmark projects like the Mitchell and Kwinana Smart Freeway traffic modelling projects. Further complementing his expertise with data analytics, traffic management and process optimisation, Bruce has successfully delivered traffic solutions nationally and internationally, in areas such as Western Australia, New South Wales, and New Zealand.
