About this event
You are invited to this AITPM NSW/ACT Branch webinar designed to provide practitioners with an update on TfNSW Movement and Place Framework.
What is Movement and Place?
The NSW Movement and Place Framework recognises that streets and roads are not just about moving people and goods – they are also places for people to live, work and spend time. It provides a common method for practitioners to work collaboratively to ensure that development achieves a balance between the competing priorities of movement and place.
Who uses Movement and Place?
This Framework will be of interest to all practitioners across government, councils and industry working on new or existing transport and land-use focused projects.
What’s new?
The presentation will focus on recent updates to Movement and Place, including the new whole-of-government website: https://www.movementandplace.nsw.gov.au/
The new website is a result of cross-government collaboration and has been set up as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for practitioners, offering videos, Practice Notes and Built Environment Indicators. More features, such as online training, a collaboration space and a range of supporting documents including the NSW Government Guide to Network Planning In Precincts and the Design of Roads and Streets will be added during 2022.
De-mystifying Movement and Place
The presentation will de-mystify Movement and Place. It will cover the development of the concept and explain how it is now being used to address and prioritise future transport challenges.
Our speakers for this event include:
Mark Yee | DPIE
Mark is an experienced land-use planner having worked at DPIE in the place and precincts team for the past 5 years being involved in both land release as well as planning proposals. Previously he worked in local government including some time in the UK. Mark is currently working closely with TfNSW to deliver the NSW Movement and Place Framework including being the secretariat of the NSW Movement and Place Implementation Board and chairing the NSW Movement and Place Technical Working Group.
Ben Cebuliak | TfNSW
Ben is the Manager Movement and Place at Transport for NSW. Ben has been involved in the development of the NSW Movement and Place Framework since 2015 and has worked with transport professionals to implement the framework at all stages from strategic planning to operations. Ben has worked as a transport planner in the public, private and research sectors with all levels of government in Australia and Canada. Ben is also currently the acting chair of Walking and Cycling Australia and New Zealand (CWANZ).
