Join us to hear from young professionals in the industry and virtually connect with your peers over drinks. We will be hearing from Jay Shanmugam, Okka Maw, Alifa Putri and Tiffany Saputra, who will be showcasing their contributions to projects they have been involved in in recent years.
This AITPM YPN NSW event aims to recognise young professionals in the transport industry and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skills, their contributions and share outcomes and lessons learnt. Following brief presentations from our speakers, there will be the opportunity to ask them questions.
Alifa Putri |WSP
Alifa is a Transport Planner at WSP. She has over 3 years of experience working as an urban/transport planner in Indonesia, the United States and Australia. Alifa will be showcasing the Zero-Emission Transition Plan for Transport Canberra project supports the ACT Government in achieving its target of zero-emission bus fleet by 2040. The project aims to deliver the transition in a sustainable, affordable and practical manner to offer optimal outcomes for the customer and the city. It considers various key elements including the battery electric/hydrogen fuel cell electric bus fleet type, facilities and systems, power type and supply, service planning and workforce and industry.
Tiffany Saputra |Aurecon
Tiffany Saputra is a graduate Transport Planner in Aurecon's Urban Mobility and Integrated Transport Team. Since graduating with a Bachelors in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelors of Commerce from UNSW in 2019, she has worked on transport planning, pedestrian modelling and active transport projects. Most recently, her honours thesis was showcased at the 2020 AITPM Online Conference titled: Conflict between Sustainable Development and Transport Accessibility at Green Square.
Tiffany will be highlighting the importance of pedestrian modelling and its role on projects with several case studies.
Okka Maw | TfNSW (Stantec)
Okka Maw is a transport planner seconded into TfNSW from Stantec with experience in traffic engineering (both private and public sector), masterplanning, strategic transport planning, active travel and road safety. Okka’s role in the RNP program included project management, technical review and direction, and stakeholder management across two RNP packages over the previous financial year.
Jay Shanmugam |TfNSW
Jay Shanmugam is a Senior Transport Planner within the Greater Sydney division at TfNSW with a background in traffic engineering at the local government level, strategic planning, and data and spatial analysis. Jay’s experience on the RNP program ranges from the technical detail required to further develop RNPs, as well as the management and technical direction of the RNPs across Greater Sydney.
