Anna Campbell | Celebrating Queensland Walks Month 2023
Anna Campbell is the Executive Officer of Queensland Walks. Anna is passionate about improving the conditions for walking for all people and all ages, and making urban environments desirable, accessible and inclusive for all walkers so more people will be encouraged to walk, roll and stroll. Anna is motivated to enable suitable conditions for active travel to schools, to community and public transport precincts, safe night time spaces suitable for women and girls to actively participate, and ensuring that we design inclusive urban environments suitable for our sub-tropic and tropical environments.
Queensland Walks celebrates Queensland Walks Month annually in August. 2023 marks their 10-year anniversary of advocating for better conditions for walking in Queensland. Queensland Walks facilitates the Queensland Walking Alliance, a multi-stakeholder coalition advocating for increased funding and priority for pedestrians in Queensland. As part of their funded Walk Hub project, Queensland Walks has collected initial data from their ‘Walk My Street’ checklist, and independent polling from their ‘Safe Cities for Women and Girls’. www.queenslandwalks.org.au
