The AITPM QLD Transport Modelling Network (TMN) is proud to bring you the first in-person Technical Forum for 2024 generously sponsored by Arcadis. Join us for light refreshments and hear from a range of speakers on relevant transport modelling topics.
This Technical Forum is the perfect opportunity for professionals to network with like-minded engineers and planners within the Transport Modelling Network, learning about something new in the transport modelling industry and for those looking to get into the industry to get more insights into the kind of work that is undertaken.

Speakers
Damien Bitzios | Bitzios Consulting
Damien has over 30 years of experience as a traffic engineer and transport planner in consulting and in local government. His specialist skills include transport modelling, public transport planning, traffic analysis, impact assessment and integrated transport planning. He has led projects throughout Australia, Asia, Middle East and America and has published and presented papers nationally and internationally on modelling, traffic, freight and integrated planning topics. Recent years have seen Damien fill project leadership, mentoring and training roles within his business and for state and local government agencies.
Berino Lorio | SMEC
Berino started his career as a transport modeller 22 years ago in the UK, since then he has worked on a variety of modelling regimes, including macro-, meso- and microsimulation. He has lived and worked as a modeller in the UK, South Africa and Australia, and used most of the commercial transport modelling software, including PTV Visum and Vissim, Aimsun, Emme, Paramics TransCAD, SIDRA, SATURN ,and TRIPS.
Lise Chesnais | Arcadis
As a specialist of pedestrian movements planning, Lise Chesnais has carried out station design assessments on over 30 train and metro stations, including Paris Austerlitz and Montparnasse, the Greater Paris Metro stations, as well as Circular Quay and Central Station in Sydney.
Lise is passionate about using planning and modelling to contribute to attractive, comfortable and well-designed sustainable transport infrastructure. Lise is the NSW Transport Planning Lead at Arcadis and has been developing her expertise over her 13 years of experience
Pedro Camargo | Outer Loop Consulting
Pedro is a transport scientist with 20 years of experience developing forecasting models. Pedro is a founding member of Outer Loop Consulting and leads the company’s model development and freight practices. He is also a researcher at Argonne National Laboratory, where he is part of the team developing the agent-based model Polaris. Pedro has a particular interest in scientific computing and open-source software and was the original creator of AequilibraE.
