About this event
The SA Transport Modelling Network is pleased to present an engaging and interactive in-person event to discuss The State of Modelling in SA: Challenges, Innovations, and Future Directions. Be part of the conversation with our panellists in discussing the general state of transport modelling in our state, the challenges the industry faces right now and into the future, and what is possible in the spaces of innovation, integration, and collaboration within our industry.
The event format is intended to encourage audience participation and spark insightful discussion. The audience will have a chance to respond to the questions posed to the panellists in real-time via an easy-to-navigate online tool and respondents will be encouraged to share their views to the wider group.

Andrew Leedham | Technical Executive – Planning and Mobility | WSP
Andrew is a Technical Executive in WSP’s SA Planning and Mobility team and an internally accredited Technical Fellow. Andrew is a principal engineer with over 46 years’ experience in traffic engineering and transport planning for major transport infrastructure projects, in Australia and overseas, for local and state government agencies, private companies and international aid agencies. His expertise and experience include project management, road strategy planning, highway planning and design, road safety, traffic planning, traffic management and parking, transport planning and traffic impact assessment.
Andrew is an AITPM Life Member and has served in many roles throughout his career ranging from Board Director, National President and Vice President, SA Branch President and Vice President and SA Branch Treasurer. He has also served as the Chair and secretary of Engineers Australia’s SA Transportation Branch Committee
Jason Zafry | Senior Associate | WGA
As a Senior Associate at WGA, Jason specialises in traffic engineering, concept planning, and traffic simulation modeling using AIMSUN. With prior experience at the Department of Infrastructure and Transport, he has deep expertise in road planning and design. Jason has made significant contributions to the development of DIT’s metropolitan traffic simulation model (MATSAM – the predecessor to TAM), enabling improved decision-making for Adelaide’s transport network. He has also applied his expertise to major projects like the South Road Superway and Torrens Road to River Torrens as part of Adelaide's North-South Corridor Strategy.
Respected for his intuitive and meticulous approach to traffic modelling and design, Jason plays a key role in delivering impactful, data-driven outcomes across diverse projects.
Jake Premrl | Transport Modeller | DIT
Jake Premrl is a Transport Modeller at the Department for Infrastructure and Transport. He holds a Bachelor of Civil and Structural Engineering with Honours at the University of Adelaide.
Jake’s interests lie in Traffic Assignment Modelling, aligned with his work experience regarding the development and the use of different assignment tiers (macroscopic, mesoscopic and microscopic) of the Tactical Adelaide Model (TAM).
