About this event
The AITPM VIC / TAS Branch YPN is excited to partner with Engineers Australia to bring you this 'Projects in the Pub' event. Come and join us at Shambles for an opportunity to catch-up with industry colleagues and hear from our guest speakers talk about some of the current transport opportunities in Hobart. Bring your friends and colleagues to what is set to be a great evening of project sharing and networking with industry peers.
Registration for this event includes light catering and a beverage on arrival. Attendees will be able to purchase additional drinks via the bar throughout the event if they wish.

Mitchell Howard | Infrastructure Tasmania
Mitchell is an experienced project manager who has worked in both the transport and mining industries. He started his career as a mechanical engineer specialising in the transport of bulk materials such as coal or iron ore and working as a consultant to mining companies and export terminals. He then put his project management skills into action, supervising the delivery of passenger rail projects in Sydney for Transport for NSW, before relocating to Hobart. He now works for Infrastructure Tasmania investigating future needs and opportunities for the State Road network, identifying projects for funding and acting as the delivery client.
Mary Haverland | Arcadis
Mary is a Transport Planner with over 25 years’ experience in successfully delivering a wide range of strategic planning services thoroughout Australia, and overseas, in both the public and private sector. She has specialist expertise in the development and application of Movement and Place Frameworks and associated planning approaches. Mary is passionate about creating equitable and sustainable environments; and making our roads and streets more accessible and comfortable public spaces that support great journeys is at the core of this.
David Ewers | Fulton Hogan
David has over 10 years’ experience in various projects and roles in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. These roles have included design management, site/project engineer or superintendent’s representative and project management. David is currently the project manager of the Hobart Airport Early Works project. David also was awarded the Young Engineer of the Year – Tasmania in 2021/2022. He is the Vice President of the Engineers Australia Executive Committee in Tasmania and is also a committee member and chair of various organisations in support of pro-bono engineering and young professional development.
Ryan Jeffs | Planned Performance
Ryan is the Project Manager/Superintendent Representative - Hobart Airport Early Works – Forecourt and Services Contract.
