New Zealand Study Tour Award 2019 – Winner
AITPM are pleased to announce the winner of the AITPM – 2019 New Zealand Study Tour Award is Christopher Wong of WSP Australia, Sydney office.
This year AITPM again attracted a strong field of nominations for the award. The nomination panel was impressed with the quality of all submissions and the selection of the winner was a close call with only a few points separating the top submissions. We would like to thank all of those who nominated for this year’s award and for the obvious efforts that were put into the submissions.
As winner of this award, Christopher wins a complimentary registration to the ENZ Transportation Group Conference in Wellington, New Zealand in March, including airfares, accommodation and incidentals. Christopher has started arranging meetings with key transportation officials while he is in Wellington so that he can gain as much as possible while he is there and to further strengthen the relationship between AITPM and ENZ Transportation Group.
The ENZ Transportation Group annual conference is New Zealand’s premier forum for the traffic engineering, road safety and transportation planning community. It is intended to stimulate debate and collaboration amongst peers. Around 200 professionals attend the annual event, which has been running for more than 40 years.
Christopher’s submission demonstrated a good understanding of the upcoming ENZ conference and how it related to his work. AITPM were particularly impressed with Christopher’s thoughts regarding the further contribution that he can make to the relationship between ENZ Transportation Group and AITPM.
Christopher’s application for this award is available on the AITPM website and I encourage interested members to review his application and encourage all interested members to nominate for next year’s New Zealand Study Tour Award and for our other awards.
Congratulations again to Christopher and thanks to all the other nominees.
