This year AITPM again attracted a strong field of nominations for the award. The nomination panel was impressed with the quality of all submissions and the selection of the winner was a close call with only a few points separating the top submissions. We would like to thank all of those who nominated for this year’s award and for the obvious efforts that were put into the submissions.
As winner of this award, Rachel wins a complimentary registration to the ENZ Transportation Group Conference in Christchurch, New Zealand in March, including airfares, accommodation and incidentals. Rachel has started arranging meetings with key transportation officials while she is in Christchurch so that she can gain as much as possible while she is there and to further strengthen the relationship between AITPM and ENZ Transportation Group.
The ENZ Transportation Group annual conference is New Zealand’s premier forum for the traffic engineering, road safety and transportation planning community. It is intended to stimulate debate and collaboration amongst peers. Around 200 professionals attend the annual event, which has been running for more than 40 years.
Rachel’s submission demonstrated a good understanding of the upcoming ENZ conference and how it related to her work. AITPM were particularly impressed with Rachel’s thoughts regarding the further contribution that she can make to the relationship between ENZ Transportation Group and AITPM.
You can read Rachel’s application for this award here and I encourage interested members to review her application and encourage all interested members to nominate for next year’s New Zealand Study Tour Award and for our other awards.
Congratulations again to Rachel and thanks to all the other nominees.
