2022 EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNER
CITY OF RYDE INTEGRATED TRANSPORT STRATEGY, 2041
Michael Dixon , Project Director:
‘I was determined to ensure that the new ITS didn’t become a static document to sit idle for the years ahead. It had to be a living document, to identify the strategic and development work required to improve Ryde’s transport system. To do that, we as a project team needed the support of our peers, leaders and the community, and we were successful in obtaining this through regular consultation and an implementation plan with clear project definitions. I am immensely proud of what we were able to achieve as a team with a shared purpose, and delighted and thankful to the AITPM for giving us the honour of the 2022 Excellence Award.’
David Anderson, Project Manager:
‘Ryde’s new Integrated Transport Strategy 2041 is an important step toward changing travel behaviour and securing the mix of transport facilities needed for the future. Winning this year’s prestigious AITPM Excellence Award will certainly help us highlight the benefits of coordinated transport planning.’
‘The City of Ryde is delighted to win this year’s AITPM Excellence Award. Receiving this award will bring more attention to the Strategy, including from government and key stakeholders. Raising the profile of this work will help make ‘visionary’ transport a reality.’
‘We were not expecting to win such a high-profile industry award for our new work. We wanted a comprehensive and action-oriented Strategy that would be a practical resource, both within and outside of Council. As we move toward implementation of the many recommendations, we would thank AITPM for recognising our efforts.’
‘City of Ryde has only recently created a transport planning section within the Transport Department. Winning the 2022 AITPM Excellence Award is quite an achievement. We will be keen to let everyone know, including our many residents. The award will help us bring attention to the many future benefits of coordinated transport planning’
