The AITPM QLD Branch invites members and non-members to join us in celebrating the festive season and saying farewell to 2023 with a networking event to be held at Firefly (275 George Street). Festivities will start at 5:30pm for an evening of drinks and light snacks.
Following on from our successful road pricing symposium at this year’s AITPM National Conference, this webinar discussed what the challenges and opportunities are for road pricing in Australia. Professor David Hensher discussed the status quo, the potential objectives of road pricing reform and the opportunity a real-world experiment for road pricing would provide Australia. This webinar was a technical seminar followed by a Q and A discussion.
The AITPM EPN held an engaging and informative speed networking event themed "Affordable, Vibrant Living." This event centred around how transport-led land use and development can foster the creation of affordable, vibrant communities while delivering substantial benefits to our local communities.
The QLD Branch hosted networking drinks and mini-golf from 5:00pm to 6pm before guests sat down for dinner to hear from guest speakers. This year's speakers were Trent Williams from Stantec and Dr Eslam Hassan from Bitzios Consulting.

Strategic transport modelling forms the basis of forecast travel demand to inform business cases for transport infrastructure investment and the more detailed operational modelling. In the ACT, the robustness of the Canberra Strategic Transport Model (CSTM) outputs is dependent on the data accuracy of the model inputs used to calibrate and validate the model, and to develop the future model scenarios. The Road Reserves Review (RRR) was a comprehensive transport/land use planning study undertaken between 1988-1991. A few years after the RRR was completed, a new Metropolitan Transport Strategy (MTS) was formulated. This event will feature several speakers and panelists who played important roles during the formation of the RRR and the MTS in the 1990s who will reflect on these important studies.
