The AITPM QLD Emerging Professionals Network (EPN) is proud to host the “Lightning Talks” Seminar after fantastic success last year. We have four speakers lined up to provide a brief presentation about recent interesting work in the transport space! The focus of this event will be “Working Together for Electrification” to ensure future clean energy, sufficient electricity and charging infrastructure for a vehicle transition happens together and at pace. This discussion will bring together policy makers and engineers to make the connection between energy and transport systems in the journey to decarbonisation. It will unpack the future plans in WA, the challenges to be overcome and ways of working together.
Marco Te Brömmelstroet, an internationally renowned academic and author, is travelling to Australia to lecture at the 2023 AITPM Conference in Melbourne. Marco (also known as the “Cycling Professor”) is a Professor and Chair of Urban Mobility Futures at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research at the University of Amsterdam, founding academic director of the Urban Cycling Institute, and co-author of the book titled “Movement – how to take back our streets and transform our lives”. He is an avid promoter for cycling and in his teachings he challenges people to radically reimagine the way in which society thinks about mobility, transport systems, and the street.

Matt Richards and Brendan Robinson will present on Veitch Lister Consulting's (VLC) use of transport modelling in the Outdoor Advertising Industry, whilst Andrew Li will provide an overseas study of Aimsun's work in new mobility solutions and their impacts.
The AITPM have assembled a panel of three speakers from the largest transport infrastructure projects in Victoria to provide an update on their progress. The past five years have seen some of the largest city shaping transport projects being constructed in the City’s history. As some of the projects near their completion, the AITPM are hosting three key speakers to provide an update on their respective projects and to discuss their experiences on some of the challenges and positive outcomes encountered along the way.
Join AITPM NSW Young Professionals for "A Day in the Life of” where we will be showcasing a snapshot of what the day to day work of professionals in the transport planning industry may entail. The perspectives will come from our experienced panel from public sector transport planning at TfNSW, private sector consulting at Arup and research and academia at UNSW. AITPM QLD Branch is hosting a Transport Hackathon to gather and collaborate the creative minds in the transport industry. This hackathon will tackle a specific transport theme: Connecting Brisbane's Inner City. This theme is inspired by Brisbane City Council’s desire to see enhanced connectivity for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. More details are below in the Challenge Statement. This transport hackathon will stretch your imagination about what we would like our city to look like in time for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and beyond. Organisations or companies are encouraged to submit team nominations (6 people per team). Individual registrations are also welcomed. Places are limited – get in quick!
