This webinar will provide an opportunity for members to obtain the latest update on the roads and the metro rail that are currently being built to service the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.
In 2015, the Austroads Board initiated the strategic priority project “Safety at Road Worksites”. This project was initiated in response to emerging issues in many States / Territories with serious crashes occurring at roadworks. The presentation will be provided by Dr Dan Sullivan who is the Founding Director of “Solutions in Transport”. An overview is also provided of the national implications of the intended changes to the industry. The presentation will be supported by an overview of the Victorian program for harmonisation presented by James Ritchie.

With the current WA State Road Safety Strategy: Towards Zero 2008-2020 expiring at the end of this year, preparations have been underway to shape the next decade of our journey to ensuring no one has to experience the devastating impacts of a fatal or serious crash. Join us online to hear an update from the Road Safety Commission on progression of the next state strategy, and also from the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) and RAC on what they are doing to help reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured on roads in WA.
Following on from the highly successful LUTI Webinar in September, AITPM are now delving into the details of three different LUTI models recently developed in Australia, each using a recent project to highlight their benefits. The speakers for this webinar have been involved in both the development of the models and their implementation on real projects. Renan Grace (KPMG) will talk about the development of CityPlan, an UrbanSim LUTI model for Melbourne and its application for the Suburban Rail Loop Project. Stuart Donovan and Rhiannon Ruteledge (VLC) will talk about Spatial, a simplified SGE land use modelling framework and a case study using Spatial to assess Faster Rail between Melbourne and Geelong. Bonnie Barker will discuss the practical implementation of LUTI modelling into the economic appraisal of projects, using Canberra Light Rail as a case study. The session will round out with a panel discussion involving all speakers and a select group of end users of the LUTI model.
